You’re three times more likely to get into a car accident if you’re driving around the Milford areas with underinflated tires. This is exactly why Nissan invented a new type of tire sensor that helps you fill your tires up properly. And, car shoppers are impressed with the newest feature. Check out this news video to learn more about the 2013 Nissan Altima’s Tire Pressure Sensor.
The Easy Fill Tire Alert System, standard on all 2013 models at our Nissan dealership, will let you know when your tire pressure has dropped below the recommended level. Then, when you are filling up the tire, the system will chirp the horn to let you know when the tires have the right amount of air. If you put in too much air, the horn will beep three times quickly to let you know to let air out, and then chirp again when it has reached the right level. Watch this video to see this system in action.

To help reduce the chances of injury caused by a car collision, Nissan developed the “Safety Shield” Concept. This collection of safety technologies works before, during, and after an accident to keep you and your passengers safe. Read on to learn more about some of the advanced safety features available on a new Nissan.
Distance Control Assist
Taking the cruise control feature to a new and safer level, Nissan’s Distance Control Assist helps your car automatically maintain a present distance from the car in front of you. By using a system of sensors that detects the speed of the vehicles in front of you, your Nissan will accelerate and brake for you, effectively helping take some of the stress and danger out of highway driving.
Lane Departure Prevention
This Nissan system uses sensors to detect the lane markers in front of and behind your car. If you are about to drift out of your lane unintentionally, the system will warn you. If you don’t respond, your Nissan will apply braking power to certain wheels in order to keep the car inside its lane.
Blind Spot Intervention
Your new Nissan can be your second set of eyes thanks to this advanced safety system. If your Nissan detects a car in one of your blind spots, a light will illuminate on the corresponding windshield pillar. If the driver attempts to change into that lane, the car will emit a warning sound and even activate the brakes to help prevent the lane change.
Backup Collision Intervention
When you pull out of a parking spot in a Nissan equipped with the Backup Collision Intervention system, your vehicle will warn you if you are on a collision course with a nearby object. Not only will you be warned, but your Nissan will also automatically apply the brakes to prevent a collision.
